The Story

Data analyst.

Meet Md Nahid Rahman. He grew up in Sylhet, Bangladesh, came to Arkansas for university, and discovered somewhere along the way that he could sit with a messy dataset until it started making sense. He believes data can speak, once you give it the right shape.

He earned his B.S. in Information Systems and Business Analytics from Arkansas State University and now works as a Data Analyst in fintech, where he handles financial reporting, portfolio and delinquency analysis, and the dashboards leadership uses to make decisions. The work runs from raw transaction data to the number a director reads on a Monday morning, and he makes sure nothing gets lost in between.

He has learned that the first answer is rarely the right one. So he pours a cup of coffee, turns the problem over, tries a second approach and a third, and keeps going until the numbers stop contradicting each other. Careful, detailed work is most of the job. Asking a better question is the rest.

Outside of work he is usually outdoors. He has road-tripped through national parks with friends, from Death Valley to Yellowstone to Arches, and spends summer weekends fishing the Newport River. He plays soccer when he can get a game together, enjoys photography and never travels without a camera, and cooks for whoever happens to be around.
